Wow, what a week

Tuesday: So today we spent a long time finishing something that will help everyone for a long time. We worked on putting our less active and members list into the area book with a correct map. That was boring, but I can now read most addresses in our area!

Wednesday: We had a really good lesson with Uenoyama Kyōdai today. We read Enos with him and he was really open. He doesn't remember a lot of stuff, like the day, or when we last came. But we love him and still visit him all of the time.

Thursday: Today was freezing! The temperature was floating around zero for most of the day. The wind was also roaring all day. At Eikaiwa, we played "I went to the market" with a bunch of old people and one of the best people at it was a beginner student who works so hard. He comes to a lot of church too. He might be the hardest working student we have.

Friday: Ping pong night. It was us and Nakamura Kyōdai. That was it. Millard Chōrō contacted while I got to know Nakamura kyōdai. We had a really interesting talk about why Japanese people are the way they are. He was the second person that I talked to about the Second World War in Japan. It is really interesting and explains why the Japanese are the way they are. Apparently a lot of them are scared of Americans. Interesting right?!

Saturday: Freezing again. We went Streeting and housing in Kiyose. Everyone we talked to said to go away because it was too late and they were going to bed. It was 7:30. We walked home after that. But the sky that night was so clear. All of the stars were out and you could see for miles. We also went to pasta with a member, Endō Kyōdai. He brought us one of his friends to teach! She was super prepared and hopefully will talk to the sisters soon.

Sunday: We finished all of our work with the less active list and talked to the bishop about who we can help the most. Then we went to a corner of the area and tried to find a PI and a less active. They weren't home, so we biked back. I think that I am getting better at biking. We met a guy from Fiji. He bought us scones because he heard someone tell him to get us some. He was really nice and had met missionaries a year ago. We might be able to help him with his Japanese someday.

Monday: we went to indo curry today. I had mutton curry with a chicken tikka. Really good. Naan is the best bread by the way, except for biscuits and gravy. Does anyone know how to make naan? Sent off some stuff to America.

That was our week, next week will be even better and filled with fun activities that I can't wait to tell you about next week!

Selection from letter to William

I was reading some conference talks this week and one stood out to me. It is Elder Gary E. Stevenson' "Look to the Book, Look to the Lord". It is about the Book of Mormon, obviously, but it talks about how everything that we believe is centered and depends on the Book of Mormon. Next year in seminary is the Book of Mormon, and I think that a good way to get ready for that is to read it with the family. I know that it is true and I know that by the power of the Holy Ghost, who has testified to me in my heart the truth of the Restoration. Joseph Smith really did translate it by the power of God. There have been plenty of people here that have tried to dissuade me of my faith, but as I bear my testimony to them, the same testimony that I bear to you, the Spirit is there and manifests to those who have an open heart. In the January 2017 Ensign, on the last page, is a story by Hue B. Brown, a past General Authority. It is simply, a straight forward and true way of putting the importance of the Book of Mormon.
